Local Area Networks slides
Instructor:
Prof. Shie-Yuan Wang
Course description:
Study the design, implementation, function, and performance of local area networks. Topics include: Internet protocol, medium access control, spanning-tree protocol, switching, scheduling, 802.11 wireless LAN, gigabit Ethernet, virtual LAN, HTTP and web servers, networking services and applications.
Prerequisite:
“Introduction to computer networks” is preferred but not required. Because this course is aimed to be self-contained, we will spend a few weeks at the beginning of the semester on the basics of computer networks.
